Book Review: The B2B Social Media Book

By Monica Clarke

The B2B Social Media Book: Become a Marketing Superstar by Generating Leads with Blogging, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Email, and More was written by Kipp Bodnar, Inbound Marketing Strategist for Hubspot, and Jeffery L. Kohen, Social Strategist at Radian6 a Salesforce Company. I first learned about this book after attending a webinar hosted on Hubspot in regards to this same topic. After hearing them speak I knew that I needed to get my hands on their book, so I downloaded it to my Kindle and dove right in.

The title is self-explanatory but I’d like to use this review to highlight some of my favorite chapters:

  • · The 5 step Social Media Lead Generation Process – There are real “how to’s” that apply not just to one niche of business.
  • · Twitter: Leads in 140 Characters — This section helps you optimize how to say it and how to make them want it.
  • · Run a B2B Social Media Marketing Team like a Start-Up — Very helpful in prioritizing the “passion” and making it “agile.”

This book is a must-have on everyone’s shelf from social media manager to CEO because it takes more than a one-angled look at how to make social media work for you. It has been a long time since I bought a book for work that I couldn’t put down and wanted to talk about constantly – this one was worth every ounce. The B2B Social Media Book is well written in a conversational format and doesn’t lay the case studies on too heavily. It is a balanced book that is actually helpful in this ever-changing medium.

The book currently retails on Amazon for $16.47, or you can get it for your Kindle for just $9.99.
