New York, NY (September 26, 2016)

In recognition of the need, urgency and opportunity to cultivate the ranks of women among thought leaders in the social change sector, The Wakeman Agency has officially launched She Roars. The one-of-a-kind offering has been specially designed to address what women in leadership roles require to maximize their impact.

A poll commissioned by The Chronicle of Philanthropy and New York University’s George H. Heyman Jr. Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising revealed some stark findings:

● Only 21 percent of nonprofits with budgets of $25M+ are led by a woman.
● A plurality of women surveyed, 57 percent, expressed a desire to move into leadership.

“In my more than 10 years of partnering with nonprofits to raise awareness on important issues, thought leadership has emerged as a continuous and critical element in driving conversations that ultimately change the landscape,” said Vanessa Wakeman, CEO of The Wakeman Agency. “We help women overcome resistance and roadblocks while building powerful, motivational platforms.”

She Roars combines talent, tools and strategic guidance to increase the number of female leaders poised for thought leadership. This may be evidenced through more women professionals acknowledged as high potential talent, invited to inspire and influence stakeholders in civic engagement.

“Recognizing the need is only part of the solution,” Wakeman said. “Building on our success in serving missing-focused organizations, we are excited to pioneer this new service that intricately addresses the nuances of women in leadership.”

Several features of the She Roars program are executive profile development, media coaching and relations, social media management and influencer engagement. Wakeman stated: “We are undeniably passionate about this work. We truly see this as the beginning of a powerful movement for talented women.”
